Hi! I love this little tree. I actually bought two of them. It’s the perfect size or a nightstand, countertop or even bathroom vanity! Also, if you are looking for an easy Christmas DYI, this is for you. It took me less than 10 minutes to do each one. I also saw a lot of similar ones at TJ Maxx, but they were a lot smaller and the same price as this one.

What You’ll Need

  1. Xmas Tree – Ikea $10
  2. Twine – Dollar Store $1
  3. Lights – Dollar Store $1
  4. Burlap – Dollar Store $1
  5. Scissors – Should already have these 🙂
  6. Star- Dollar Store $1

**Roman not included.

Step 1: Cover the base

You can use any fabric you want. I wanted mine to match my decor so I went with burlap to keep things neutral. I didn’t need to cut this sheet, but if your fabric is larger than this, you might need to.

Step 2: Secure the fabric

Use the twine to tie the fabric around the base of the tree. Its easier to do this before adjusting the branches.

Step 3: Unfold the branches

After you get done adjusting the branches, it should look a little something like this.

Step 4: Add the glitz

Last string the lights on, and add the star. The lights aren’t long enough to wrap completely around the tree so I just zig zagged them in a “Z” shape across the front. I also bent the top branch in half so that the star was more secure on top.

And, that’s it! Super easy. You can add ornaments on yours if you want. The Dollar Store has tons of little ones that would fit on this size tree. But, like I said, I wanted to keep this simple and classic. Oh, and if you want to be extra (because who doesn’t want to be?) you can add a Bath and Body Works wallflower in Balsam behind it so it smells real. 😉

xx,

Nicole
